What's On It
House made beef birria, taco sauce, red onions, cilantro, and a lime wedge cut onto every slice so your first bite is exactly right.
The amount of meat on this pizza is not subtle. That is the whole point.
When you actually bite into it the birria is tender and the grease from the cheese pulls everything together in a way that makes complete sense. The taco sauce cuts through the richness. The lime brightens the whole thing up. It eats like a birria taco and a pizza at the same time.
And do not throw away the crust. Their thick free ranch is made for dipping and it is asking for it.
Pizza My Heart has four Santa Cruz County locations in downtown Santa Cruz, Aptos, and two in Capitola. The birria pizza is at all of them but only through August so do not wait on this one.
