The Best Burgers in Watsonville: Episode 3 — The Staff of Life Burger
Three episodes in and this one might be the most surprising yet.
Staff of Life is a natural grocery store and local institution that has been in Santa Cruz County for 57 years. They opened their Watsonville location in March 2021 and every Tuesday they are serving one of the best burgers in town for $10.
Ten dollars.
What Makes This Burger Different
It starts with the meat.
Staff of Life runs their own butcher shop and the beef they use is Piedmontese. It is a breed known for being tender, juicy, and naturally lean. Less fat than standard beef without losing the flavor. A burger that tastes incredible and is better for you than most. That combination does not come around often.
On top of that you get house made special sauce, pickles, and a potato bun. Simple. Dialed in. Nothing unnecessary.
The side comes with all the burger fixings so you can build it exactly how you want it.
When To Go
Tuesdays only. 4pm to 6:30pm.
This is not an everyday menu item which makes it worth planning your Tuesday around. A butcher shop quality burger for $10 with a window that short means you show up or you miss it.
